My ballet shoes, where to start… I love my ballet shoes, they’re one of the most special things that I own. Sometimes I just look at them and I can hardly believe I’m doing this, that these are really my shoes, and my heart leaps with how much I love ballet. it’s just thrilling for me.
I love practicing in them.
If anyone has any advice, or suggestions, for me, comment down below. It’s tough starting so late and I’d love some support!
I wanted to start ballet so badly, but I was really scared. A lot of people start ballet when they’re just seven or eight years old, and here I am, 14 years old, I mean… I didn’t know what to expect. Would studios even let me take part in their classes? Is it simply too late?
I wound up at a beautiful studio that I love. I take drop – in open ballet classes once a week, so it’s not like I’m in a real class or anything, I guess you could say. My first class, I arrived early, wearing black leggings and a gymnastics leotard. I couldn’t wait. I was shocked to realize that everyone in the class was older than me, and far better than me as well.
I’m also trying my best to be as beautifully graceful as the other girls, who are very meticulous and perfect looking.
Basically, since I’m still learning the basics, I try to keep up the best I can. I just got some actual ballet shoes of my own last week, and I love them!
I’m hoping to progress. I practice a lot outside of class, and I’ve been stretching before bed every night for months now. I can’t wait to see where I go!
